The Not-King James Version (NKJV)

1. The New King James Version (NKJV) is NOT new, nor is it the King James Version.

1. It corrupts the word of God and the verses talk about corrupting and changing the word of God.

2Co 2:17

For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. (KJV)

For we are not, as so many,[a] peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ. (NKJV)

Rom 1:25  

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.  (KJV)

who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.  (NKJV)

III. It corrupts the doctrine of salvation.

1Co 1:18 

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. (KJV)

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  (NKJV)

2Co 2:15 

For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: (KJV)

For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.  (NKJV)

1. It corrupts the doctrine of salvation by Christ’s faith.

Rom 3:22 

Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: (KJV)

even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all[a] who believe. For there is no difference;  (NKJV)

Gal 2:16 

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. (KJV)

knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.  (NKJV)

Gal 2:20 

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (KJV)

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.  (NKJV)

Eph 3:11-12 

According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:  In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. (KJV)

according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.  (NKJV)

1. It degrades Jesus from a Son to a servant.

Act 3:26 

Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.  (KJV)

To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.  (NKJV)

Act 4:27

For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,  (KJV)

For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together  (NKJV)
