KJV Bible Words That Have Changed Meanings
- The King James Bible was translated in 1611 and since that time many word meanings have changed.
- It is therefore important to use a good old dictionary like the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) or the Webster’s 1828 dictionary to define Biblical words to prevent misunderstanding the Bible.
- Consider the following verses that would be misunderstood if the words were defined with a modern dictionary which has changed the meanings of the words.

Just sorry that we don’t see eye to eye on everything brother. I won’t refer to you as Pastor any longer as I don’t have any New Testament warrant for doing so but I am wrong about so much more and I beg your forgiveness. I don’t know who said it but, “To err is human!” I have erred greatly in the past but that desire to repent and please the Lord is still with me so I guess that I am not a reprobate Chad.
KJV words that have lost their meaning down through the centuries is no problem to this 58 year old living in a post scamdemic world, although it does involve a little effort to reach for that Oxford English Dictionary and Thesaurus from time to time. But the effort is worth it!
