About Me
Hi, I’m Chad Wagner. I am the pastor of the Excelsior Springs Church which is a Historic, Independent, Unincorporated, Non-501c3, KJV-only, Sovereign Grace Baptist Church located in Excelsior Springs, MO.
I was born and raised in rural northwestern Pennsylvania where I attended an Arminian Protestant church from birth until my early 20s. In the early 2000s, I attended Pennsylvania College of Technology where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. After graduating and spending a year overseas, I worked in the electronic and automation engineering fields for over six years before being called into the ministry.
In 2005, I was baptized by Tim Boffey, pastor of the Cincinnati Church. After being trained for the ministry for several years by Pastor Boffey, I was ordained by Pastor Boffey and Pastor Ben Mott in 2013. Shortly after my ordination, I assumed the oversight of the Minneapolis Church and served there until 2018, after which I became the resident pastor of the Excelsior Springs Church.
I have authored five books: The True Grace of God; Problem Texts for Sovereign Grace; and Get Wisdom, Get Understanding – Volumes 1, 2 & 3. I also maintain this website which contains a large archive of sermon and Bible study recordings, outlines, videos, blogs, and essays on a vast array of topics.
I have been married to my lovely wife, Sette, for nearly eight years and am deeply thankful to God for her. I enjoy roasting, brewing, and drinking fine coffee and reading quality books.
