So You Think You Know Greek?

Many Preachers and Christians often like to define words in the Greek and explain to us unlearned and ignorant men what that verse really means. They think that because they have a Strong’s Concordance they understand Greek and can correct the King James Version.

Here is a challenge for any preacher or Christian out there that thinks they know Greek well enough to tell us mere English-reading simpletons “what that word means in the Greek.” Below you will find a passage of scripture in the Greek. Please kindly read the passage below and translate it on the fly as if you were reading the newspaper with no help or aid of any kind.

Here's your Greek quiz. You have 30 seconds.

Did you pass?

If you couldn’t read the above paragraph like it was your mother tongue, please stop arrogantly pretending that you can correct the King James Bible with the Greek.

How about Hebrew?

Okay, so maybe you’re not a Greek scholar, but you think you know Hebrew? Well then, here’s a little passage for you to read and translate on the fly.

Here's your Hebrew quiz. You have 30 seconds.

Did you pass?

If you couldn’t read the above paragraph like it was your mother tongue, please stop arrogantly pretending that you can correct the King James Bible with the Hebrew.

Can't read those little passages above?

Then put away your Strong’s Concordance and quit pretending, and get out your King James Bible and a good English dictionary like the Oxford English Dictionary or the Webster’s 1828 and study the word of God in a language that you can actually read and understand.

Strong's Concordance

Throw Away Your Strong's Concordance (sermon)

This sermon shows the futility and danger of “going to the Greek” and of using the corrupt Strong’s Concordance.
