What is Fornication?

1. The Bible calls sex outside of marriage fornication.
   1. The modern perversions call it “sexual immorality” which means what you want it to mean.
   2. Fornication – Voluntary sexual intercourse between a man (in restricted use, an unmarried man) and an unmarried woman. In Scripture extended to adultery.
   3. Intercourse – 2. a. Social communication between individuals; frequent and habitual contact in conversation and action; dealings. Sexual connexion.
   4. Connexion – 1. a. The action of connecting or joining together; the condition of being connected or joined together.
   5. Fornication therefore is connecting any part of one person’s body (sexual organ, hand, mouth, etc.) to the sexual organs of another person’s body.
   6. This means that oral sex and “hand jobs” are considered fornication.
   7. You say “You shouldn’t be saying this kind of bedroom talk in public!”
   8. I say, “Why not?!!”
   9. You say “What if kids hear this stuff?”
   10. I say, “They should!”
   11. Fornication (sex before marriage) is a sin and is forbidden by God (1Co 6:18; 1Th 4:3).
       1. “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.” (1Co 6:18)
       2. “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:” (1Th 4:3)

1. The Bible calls men who have sex before marriage whoremongers (Heb 13:4) and women who have sex before marriage whores (Rev 19:2).
   1. “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” (Heb 13:4)
   2. “For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.” (Rev 19:2)
   3. Whoremonger – One who has dealings with whores; one who practises whoredom; a fornicator, lecher.
   4. Whore – 1. a. A woman who prostitutes herself for hire; a prostitute, harlot. b. More generally: An unchaste or lewd woman; a fornicatress or adulteress. to play the whore (of a woman), to commit fornication or adultery.
   5. Whoremongers and whores will be judged by God (Heb 13:4).
   6. They will be excluded from the church.
      1. “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10) Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” (1Co 6:9-10)
      2. “For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.” (Eph 5:5)
   7. Parents need to be discussing these things with their kids.
   8. If parents don’t someone else will.
   9. Don’t neglect your duty because it’s uncomfortable.
