Video Notes

  1. The Christian Standard Bible (CSB) is a 2017 revision of the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB).
  2. Here are your 16 memory verses for the day. These will only take you 1 nanosecond to memorize if you are using a CSB. (Mat 17:21; Mat 18:11; Mat 23:14; Mar 7:16; Mar 9:44; Mar 9:46; Mar 11:26; Mar 15:28; Luk 17:36; Luk 23:17; Joh 5:4; Act 8:37; Act 15:34; Act 24:7; Act 28:29; Rom 16:24)
    1. The HCSB included these verses (except Act 15:34), but put them in brackets with a footnote saying that other manuscripts omitted the verse (except Act 24:7).

    2. The CSB removed these verses entirely.

  3. The CSB has most of the common corruptions shared by most of the modern versions such as:

Denial of the Trinity: (1Jo 5:7)

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.  (KJV)

” For there are three that testify:” (CSB)

Denial of the deity of Christ.

            (1Ti 3:16)

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”  (KJV)

“And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great: He[a] was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.” (CSB)

            (Phi 2:6)

“Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:” (KJV)

“who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be exploited. ” (CSB)

            (Eph 3:9)

“And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:” (KJV)

“and to shed light for all about the administration of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things. ” (CSB)

Denial of the saving work of Christ.

            (Heb 1:3)

“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” (KJV)

“The Son is the radiance[a] of God’s glory and the exact expression[b] of his nature, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After making purification for sins,[c] he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.[d] ” (CSB)

            (Col 1:14)

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” (KJV)

“In him we have redemption,[a] the forgiveness of sins.” (CSB)

            (Gal 2:16)

“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” (KJV)

“and yet because we know that a person is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ,[a] even we ourselves have believed in Christ Jesus. This was so that we might be justified by faith in Christ[b] and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no human being will[c] be justified.” (CSB)

Attacks the word of God.

            (2Co 2:17)

“For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.” (KJV)

“For we do not market the word of God for profit like so many.[a] On the contrary, we speak with sincerity in Christ, as from God and before God.” (CSB)

The website of the CSB is clearly designed to market the “word of God” for profit.  See: https://csbible.com/

(Luk 4:4)

“And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” (KJV)

“But Jesus answered him, “It is written: Man must not live on bread alone.”” (CSB)

            (Psa 12:6-7)

“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7)  Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” (KJV)

“The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times. 7 You, Lord, will guard us;[a] you will protect us[b] from this generation forever.” (CSB)

Lucifer is removed (Isa 14:12) – I wonder who inspired the CSB?

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!” (KJV)

“Shining morning star,[a] how you have fallen from the heavens! You destroyer of nations, you have been cut down to the ground.” (CSB)

The condemnation of fornication and adultery is removed.

(Mat 19:9)

“And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.” (KJV)

“I tell you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another commits adultery.” (CSB)

The Christian Standard Bible is not of God. (1Jo 4:3)

“And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” (KJV)

“but every spirit that does not confess Jesus[a] is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming; even now it is already in the world.” (CSB)

  1. All those corrupted verses are damning to the book, but it’s almost like you saved the best for last! They condemned the spirit behind their own book by omitting the major message in the verse.
